Last Updated: January 9, 2026

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By registering for, accessing, or using the compresr Application Programming Interface (API), website, or related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. SERVICE LICENSE AND ACCESS

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, compresr grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service solely for your internal business purposes or personal use to compress text-based inputs ("Input") into optimized outputs ("Output").

3. STRICT PROHIBITIONS & ANTI-DISTILLATION

You explicitly agree NOT to use the Service or its Outputs for any of the following:

Model Training & Distillation (Strictly Prohibited)

You represent and warrant that you will not use the Service, including any Output data, to develop, train, fine-tune, or validate any machine learning models, foundation models, large language models (LLMs), or other artificial intelligence systems. This prohibition includes:

  • Distillation: Using the Service's outputs to teach a model to mimic the behavior of our compression algorithms.
  • Synthetic Data Generation: Using the Service to generate datasets for training third-party AI systems.

Reverse Engineering

You may not decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code, underlying algorithms, weights, or trade secrets of the Service.

Illegal or Harmful Use

You may not use the API to compress content that is illegal, defamatory, promotes self-harm, or violates third-party intellectual property rights.

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the Input you provide and the Output generated. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to access, use, and process your Input solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and for internal debugging or performance monitoring as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our Technology

compresr retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including the compression algorithms, API structure, software, and documentation.

5. FEES AND PAYMENT

  • Billing: Services are billed according to the pricing tier selected at registration.
  • Taxes: You are responsible for all applicable taxes arising from your use of the Service.
  • No Refunds: Payments are non-refundable unless required by law.

6. TERMINATION

Termination for Convenience

You may stop using the Service at any time.

Termination for Cause

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.

Effect of Anti-Distillation Breach

If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated Section 3 (Anti-Distillation), we reserve the right to immediately terminate your account and forfeit any remaining prepaid credits as liquidated damages.

7. DISCLAIMERS

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY THAT THE COMPRESSED OUTPUT WILL RETAIN 100% OF THE SEMANTIC MEANING OR ACCURACY OF THE INPUT. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPRESR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL). OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ARBITRATION & CLASS ACTION WAIVER)

Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco County, California, under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association. You and compresr agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
